Mirasol Collection - Book 3 - Jane Ellison

Mirasol Collection's third pattern book by designer Jane Ellison features 30 patterns for women, men and children, created for Mirasol yarns Qina, Tupa, Chirapa, Miski, Hacho and Sulka.

Jane Ellison writes: "The inspiration for my designs included the colourful yarns introduced this season, Qina and Tupa. Some of the designs use a technique that slips the stitches to create a finished effect that looks like fairisle or intarsia but actually does not involve any of the complicated techniques associated with colorwork. As always I try to create simple and easy to follow knitting patterns that create a unique garment using a truly unique yarn."

Also included are photos of the Mirasol project, a fair trade venture which directs proceeds of Mirasol yarn sales to build a school for the children of alpaca ranchers in the Puno region of Peru. The school opened in March 2008.
